1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using RuralKeep ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use and uninstall the App.

2. Purpose of RuralKeep

RuralKeep is a personal property-maintenance record-keeping and reminder tool designed to help homeowners track services, schedules, equipment notes, and records for private wells, septic systems, filtration, and related rural home infrastructure.

3. No Professional Advice

RuralKeep provides informational tracking tools and does not provide:

Medical, sanitary, or public-health advice
Water-safety certification or potability determinations
Environmental-health assessment or hazardous-material guidance
Structural, plumbing, electrical, or engineering advice
Official septic inspection, design, or compliance certifications
Local, regional, or federal regulatory compliance determinations

You remain solely responsible for consulting qualified, licensed local professionals (such as certified well drillers, licensed septic pumpers, certified water testing laboratories, and local health authorities) regarding the health, safety, and operational condition of your property systems.

4. Maintenance Reminders

Maintenance reminders generated by RuralKeep are convenience aids only. You should not rely exclusively on the App for safety-critical, time-sensitive, or legally mandated maintenance.

Notification delivery depends on iOS local notification delivery, system power-saving modes, Focus settings, device storage, and user permission settings. RuralKeep cannot guarantee that notifications will display under all operating conditions.

5. User-Entered Information

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of any information, maintenance intervals, measurements, and records you input into RuralKeep.

6. Photos and Documents

When you attach photos or documents to records within RuralKeep, you confirm that you have the right to store that content on your device and that your content does not violate applicable laws or intellectual property rights.

7. RuralKeep Pro

RuralKeep Pro is an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks advanced features such as additional properties, unlimited systems, custom equipment categories, and expanded export tools. It is not a recurring subscription.

All in-app purchases are billed and processed by Apple through the App Store and are governed by Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Pricing and availability may vary by country and regional App Store storefront. You can restore previous purchases on compatible devices using the "Restore Purchases" button located in the App's settings.

8. Refunds

Because in-app purchases are processed directly by Apple through StoreKit, RuralKeep cannot issue direct refunds. All refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with Apple's App Store refund policies and applicable consumer protection laws.

9. Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide a reliable, high-quality application, but we may periodically update, modify, refine, or discontinue certain features or the App itself to adapt to newer iOS versions or operational needs. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or perpetual availability of every specific feature.

10. Data Preservation and Backups

RuralKeep stores data locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your device (such as through standard Apple iCloud or iTunes backups) and utilizing available export features (such as CSV or PDF reports) for important maintenance documentation. RuralKeep does not guarantee permanent or irrecoverable data preservation in the event of device loss, damage, or app uninstallation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RuralKeep is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In no event shall the creators or distributors of RuralKeep be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including, without limitation, property damage, equipment failure, water contamination, septic backup, loss of data, or costs of replacement services—resulting from your use or inability to use the App.

12. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. Any changes will be effective upon posting the updated Terms on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of RuralKeep following any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
